The Inpro/Seal Sleeve Bearing Motor Seal is an excellent upgrade to Sleeve Bearing Motors.

Sleeve Bearing Motors can be a unique challenge to retrofit for permanent bearing protection. The shaft can shift axially up to 5/8" or more upon start-up and the motor windings create so much windage that they literally "pull" lubricant out of the bearing housings. This lubricant then contaminates the windings. Motors so contaminated periodically need to be brought out of service for repair and clean-up. This is an on-going and expensive time-consuming process.

The Inpro/Seal Sleeve Bearing Motor (SBM) Seal has been specifically designed to prevent lubricant loss and contamination of the windings. Hundreds have been installed and are running flawlessly throughout the world. Some of these applications protect RENK Sleeve Bearings.

Bearing Isolators used on sleeve bearing motors differ somewhat from those used in other applications. They are installed with the rotor portion facing the bearing lubricant pool and are normally flanged mounted to ensure that they stay in position during axial shaft movement. Specially selected materials internal to the isolator also greatly reduce friction and heat generation during the start-up cycle.
